Scottish Cup: Show Buckie Thistle how good you are, says Cumbernauld Colts boss

Cumbernauld Colts boss James Orr has told his side to show what they can do against Buckie Thistle this evening, and says they've not had proper rewards from recent games.

Colts go into the Scottish Cup first round clash at Broadwood with just one win in their last three Lowland League games - a 2-0 victory at East Kilbride in between a 2-1 loss at home to Broomhill and a 1-0 defeat at Spartans - and Orr says they deserve more than that.

Orr reckons Buckie Thistle are a top side, but says it's a one-off cup clash, so his players should enjoy the tie.

He said: "For us it's very important to do well in the Scottish Cup, but it's the same as for every team.

"It would be lovely to try and do well and get a run in the cup, if we're fortunate enough.

"I think Buckie Thistle are up there as one of the best teams in the Highland League, and they're strong, professional, and have good football players.

"We're a young team, and it will be a really tough game, but if we go and play the way we can, it might be an opportunity to get something."

Orr added: "I think we can take positives from Broomhill, East Kilbride and Spartans in the last three games - I think we've been outstanding.

"Anybody's watching those three games would be arguing that we should have taken something.

"I'm not saying we should have won, but we definitely should have taken points from every game.

"We have a wee Achilles heel at the moment and need to stop letting teams in through the back door, however, the guys are working so hard to make sure we don't do it any longer.

"In the last three games I think we've been brilliant.

"I think they know how well they can play, and it's the Scottish Cup.

"It's a one-off game, essentially, so I want to them to just go out and enjoy it, play the way they can play, and just show everyone what a good team they are.

"There's no better place to do that than in the Scottish Cup."
