Scottish Cup semi final referees revealed as Aberdeen tackle Celtic and Hearts face Inverness

Craig Thomson will take charge of his first top level match in more than a month in Sunday's Scottish Cup semi final between Aberdeen and Celtic .

The veteran referee was in the middle when the two sides last met in a goalless draw at Parkhead on March 9.

But he hasn't been appointed to a Premiership match since - with his only appearance coming in Saturday’s Championship clash between Ayr Utd and Inverness Caley Thistle.

The 46-year-old will be assisted at Hampden by Douglas Ross and David Roome with Nick Walsh as fourth official.

Thomson was referee on the final day of the season last May when Aberdeen took the spoils 1-0 at Parkhead. He flashed a red card to Dons defender Shay Logan after the final whistle after the full back clashed with Hoops players and gestured to Celtic fans.

Meanwhile, the opening semi final of the weekend between Hearts and Inverness on Saturday will be refereed by Don Robertson.

Graeme Stewart and Sean Carr will run the lines while John Beaton is fourth official.
