Scottish Cup returns to the Vale of Leven after 140 years

The Scottish Cup made a glorious return to Millburn at the weekend – 140 years after Vale of Leven last won the prestigious trophy.

The exhibition coincided with members of Vale of Leven Walking Football Club putting on a demonstration of the sport during half-time of Vale Juniors and Muirkirk’s 0-0 draw.

Cleaning cut to once a week at West Dunbartonshire Council's £15m flagship building

Vale of Leven Walking Football Club founder, Phil Dawson said: “It was a great day for us as the sun was shining. Our demonstration went well.

“It was great to have the Scottish Cup there as people were really excited about it.

“It all came together at the last minute so I was pleased everyone had such a good day.

“A big thanks to Walking Football Scotland and the Scottish Football Association for making it happen.”
