Scottish city centre steak restaurant closing after 'incredible' 10 years

A SCOTTISH city centre restaurant is closing after an "incredible" 10 years.

Steak & Cherry, which is located on Sauchiehall Street, announced the news on Sunday.

They revealed that Saturday, October 12 will be their last day.

Steak & Cherry describes itself as an American restaurant and the 'best late-night steakhouse in Glasgow'.

They serve a range of dishes that includes steaks, burgers, mac and cheese, fish dishes, and a list of "New York-style" cocktails.

A spokesperson confirmed the sad news in a statement which read: "After an incredible 10 years, Steak & Cherry is closing its doors. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful customers for their support.

"Serving you has been an absolute honour - thank you for being part of our journey. We hope you'll join us in our next venture!"

Customers were quick to share their sadness at the news, with one saying: "Sorry to hear about you closing, always enjoyed my visits for great food and of course a few cocktails."

Another wrote: "My mum and I will definitely miss our meals there before the theatre. Hopefully you will open up somewhere else we can visit."

A third added: "Sorry to hear this we loved coming here when we came to Glasgow. Great food and cocktails."

A fourth said: "Aw gutted, so sorry to hear this."

A fifth wrote: "Sad news from Sauchiehall Street."
