Scottish Championship winners odds revealed as Hearts are installed as red hot favourites to lift second tier title

Hearts have unsurprisingly been installed as odds on favoruites to cruis to the 2020/21 Scottish Championship title.

The Jambos are priced at 1/8 to make an immediate return to the top flight after their premature relegation and unsuccessful legal challenge.

The last time Robbie Neilson’s men found themselves in the second tier, they ran away with the title with a gap of 21 points to second placed Hibs and set a new divisional points record of 91 in the process.

And Scottish bookmaker McBookie expects them to dominate in a similar fashion over a shortened season of just 27 games.

McBookie.com spokesman Paul Petrie said: "Hearts didn’t want to be playing in the Championship this season, but we don’t think their time in the lower leagues will be for more than one season.

"It would be a major shock if they aren’t lifting the title come the end of the season.

"And with just 27 games to be played there is every chance that Robbie Neilson’s men can enjoy an invincible season."

Second favourites Dundee, who head to Tynecastle on the opening day of the season, are a relatively huge 10/1 to pip the capital club to the title.

Championship winners betting: 1/8, Hearts; 10/1, Dundee; 16/1, ICT; 25/1, Dunfermline; 33/1, Ayr Utd; 66/1, Morton; 100/1, Arbroath; 150/1, Raith Rovers and Queen of the South; 200/1, Alloa.
