Scottish boy racers filmed speeding and doing stunts in front of huge crowds

A TikTok video has emerged which shows boy racers speeding and doing stunts in Scottish town centres.

Some of the footage is understood to have been shot in the Edinburgh area, while one clip appears to show Peebles High Street in the Scottish Borders.

In the 37-second video drivers can be seen accelerating sharply and moving at speed along various streets as crowds of people look on. Other drivers can be seen performing doughnuts and similar stunts on more secluded roads.

One clip even shows a car accelerating through a busy multi-storey car park, while blue flames can be seen spitting from the exhaust of another vehicle as two cars drive side-by-side.

The video was uploaded to the social media platform on Friday with Edinburgh tagged in the post.

Last month Edinburgh Live reported that a crowd of more than 100 people gathered outside the Tesco store at Hermiston Gait to watch a "car rally" with motorists showing off their vehicles and performing stunts.

And in another separate incident earlier this summer we told how souped-up car enthusiasts turned Edinburgh's Fort Kinnaird shopping centre into a drifting playground.

Motorists could be seen powering around narrow corners while the action is filmed and shared on TikTok.
