Scottish boxer labels Nicola Sturgeon an 'absolute monster'

A SCOTTISH boxer has labelled Nicola Sturgeon an "absolute monster" after celebrating her resignation as First Minster.

Josh Taylor, the world’s undisputed light-welterweight champion, took to social media to share his glee at the SNP leader's decision to stand down as Scotland's leader.

Sharing a BBC news article announcing her resignation, he tweeted: "Good riddance! She’s an absolute monster that has ruined Scotland in many ways."

Last year, Taylor deleted a post which branded Scotland under the SNP a "fascist state".

He later clarified that he stood by his post.

The boxer shared a GB News post about a widely shared clip at the time of patrons being removed from Glasgow’s Avant Garde bar on Hogmanay by police.

Critics of the Scottish Government implied the incident was related to coronavirus rules at the time – but Police Scotland said this is not the case.

In the post, presenter Dan Wootton said the incident was “Sturgeon’s fault for introducing such authoritarian laws”, and claimed “Sturgeon is criminalising people drinking and having a good time”.

Taylor, who has previously promoted anti-vaccine views on his social media, added: "Fascist state scotland under sturgeons [sic] SNP. What a terrible state of affairs.”

He later deleted his comment following backlash, but in one reply to a critic said: “Still stand by what I said. Can’t be a**d with all the t***s like you, night night.”
