Scots could be set to bask in another belter of a Scotland weather record as Easter Monday temperature hits all-time high with some forecasters predicting a return of blue skies and warm weather for May Day.
A 900-mile wide Spanish plume is said to be heading our way from Spain after a period of cold, rainy weather brought by Storm Hannah.
Forecasters have even hinted temperatures could peak in the mid-20s, according to The Mirror.
The Met Office is backing up claims of some warmer weather, with their long range forecast predicting that: "During the Bank Holiday weekend a pattern of generally dry weather is likely to develop, with some sunshine across most parts, although western and northern areas may eventually see some unsettled and windier conditions later."
However, Met forecasters said it was still too early to predict accurately the movements of two pressure systems set to move over the UK next week.
MeteoGroup forecaster Paul Mott is the most hopeful of hot weather.
Scotland weather record as Easter Monday temperature hits all-time high

He said: “There will be a big change from a wet and cold weekend, with temperatures rising through the week as warmth from Spain is most likely to arrive leading into the Bank Holiday weekend.
“Temperatures over the long weekend are expected climb into the low 20s at least, with a decent chance of highs around Easter’s maximum temperature of 25.5C.
“There is increasing support for warmth to last until Bank Holiday Monday.
“There is a less likely scenario of temperatures not being quite as warm - but even if that happens, dry and pleasant conditions are still expected due to high pressure."
Scotland weather boost as Easter Sunday hits record high with more sun to come on Monday

Not everyone is as hopeful of temperatures hitting 20C with some forecasters predicting a more modest 16C in Scotland.
Forecaster Craig Snell said: “We can’t promise temperatures in the mid-20s although they are certainly possible.
“It’s most likely the weekend will start off with normal temperatures for this time of year – around the mid-teens – before heating up into the 20s on Sunday and Monday.
“What we can say is that it looks as though every part of the UK will get at least one pleasant day with minimal showers and sunny spells over the May Day Bank Holiday.”
