Scottish band Texas to play their 1989 smash 'Southside' in full at Newcastle City Hall

Texas will play their debut album live - as well as a selection of their other hits and fresh material at Newcastle City Hall.

The Scottish band are celebrating over 30 years in the music industry and the release of their new album by heading out on a 24-date UK tour.

It follows Texas's sold-out Glasgow show in December, where Texas performed their debut album, 1989's Southside in full.

After the overwhelming success of that show, Texas have decided to do the same on their forthcoming tour, coupled with a set list compiled of songs both old and new.

Texas will release their new album, a follow-up to 2017's Jump on Board, later this year.

Formed in 1986 by Sharleen Spiteri and her partner in crime, Johnny McElhone, they have made sold over 40 million records, had 13 top ten UK singles, 3 #1 UK albums and 8 top ten UK albums including, including Jump on Board.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, March 6.

Tickets will be available through www.gigsandtours.com / www.ticketmaster.co.uk and the Newcastle O2 Academy Box Office - the Academy sell tickets for both City Hall and the Academy .
