Scott Wright to Rangers deal 'agreed' as Aberdeen set to make Ross McCrorie loan permanent

Rangers and Aberdeen have agreed a deal for Scott Wright, with Ross McCrorie's permanent move to the Dons also part of the deal according to a report.

The Daily Record say the Ibrox club, who already had the player tied up for a summer move on a pre-contract, will pay £200,000 to secure the winger for Steven Gerrard's squad today.

The agreement means McCrorie can feature in Aberdeen matches against his old team in domestic competition.

Dons chairman Dave Cormack has been resolute in turning down multiple bids for his attacker but finally came to a mutual understanding with the men from Govan.

McCrorie left Rangers on loan in the summer with a clause in his contract that stated the deal would be made permanent in the summer for £350,000.

Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson told the club’s website on signing the star on a pre-contract: “We look forward to Scott joining Rangers and we are excited to see him continue to develop his talent working with Steven and all of our staff.

“Scott fits our football identity and our plan for the development of our squad.

“Adding Scott, as a young Scottish player, who will continue to enhance his talent here, is part of our plan.

“I’ve enjoyed all of our conversations and we can see that Scott is a very humble young man who is both determined and excited to be part of what we are building here at Rangers."
