Aberdeen star Ryan Hedges has wished ex-team-mate Scott Wright well on his move to Rangers - but the Instagram send-off didn't go down too well with some of the Pittodrie club's fans.
Wright made the switch to Ibrox on transfer deadline day after initially agreeing a pre-contract to move in the summer.
Hedges and Wright appear to have been close at Aberdeen, with the former expressing hope after last weekend's draw with Livingston that they would play together again in a red shirt.
But it wasn't to be and the forward is now a Rangers player.
However, the old rivalry between the two clubs ensured Hedges paying tribute to his pal wasn't a popular move among some Aberdeen supporters.
He posted a pic of the pair celebrating together with the words: "Good luck in the future my man @scottwright_
"It's been a pleasure to share a pitch with you"
The Dons star deleted the post from his Instagram some time later.
But it was also picked up by some angry supporters on Twitter.
One wrote: "Ryan Hedges get the f**k out of my club"
Another said: "I've no problem with our players being mates with Scott Wright, I'm sure some do but nae me. Liking his f*****g Instagram post of him in that top is just f*****g dumb. No discipline at the club at all."
And another added: "Ryan Hedges Instagram story’s a f*****g state btw guy clearly doesn’t get it one bit"
There was at least one, however, who had some sympathy with the 25-year-old.
They posted: "Ryan Hedges had to remove this from his Instagram, can’t even wish his mate well without getting abuse from his own “fans”"
