Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has demanded Scott Wright's transfer saga be brought to an end as he urged Rangers and the Dons' board to decide on the player's future.
The 23-year-old is a transfer target for Steven Gerrard and the Ibrox club are close to completing a move on a pre-contract agreement, but speculation remains the deal could be closed this month.
Wright started for the Pittodrie side as they were trounced 4-1 by Premiership strugglers Ross County in Dingwall on Saturday, a result that meant the Dons were leapfrogged into third by Hibernian.
McInnes said rumours over the winger's future did not distract his side on a "horrible afternoon" in the Highlands, but urged those negotiating the transfer to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
"As far as I'm concerned, both myself and the chairman have had no other contact from Rangers since the start of the week," he told BBC Radio Scotland in his post-match interview.
"They've made it clear Scott's a player they want to work with for next season and if they want to work with him for the rest of this season clearly it has to be a good offer.
"But until that's the case then we stay as we are, he's our player."
He added: "It would be good if we can get it resolved but if not we've got to stay as we are.
"I'll keep getting asked the question but there's been no further dialogue other than their initial approach."
