Scott Wright Rangers transfer exit nears as club accepts bid

Scott Wright is on the verge of moving to Turkieye.

The attacker is the subject of a bid from Pendikspor, which Rangers have accepted.

The newly promoted Super Liga side are bolstering their squad ahead of the season ahead in the top flight of Turkish football.

And they have identified Wright as one of their top targets.

The Ibrox club will receive £500,000 for the 25-year-old, who will leave the club after just over two-and-a-half years spent in Glasgow.

Under Michael Beale, Wright has slipped further down the pecking order and will now move on to pastures new.

Rangers will use the money raised to reinvest in the squad for further incoming before the window ends.

Wright joined the club from Aberdeen under Steven Gerrard at the start of 2021 during the Covid season.

He was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia to reunite with Gerrard, but nothing has come to fruition.

It's believed the player will fly out to Turkieye in the next 24 hours to meet Pendikspor officials before finalising a deal.

Meanwhile, James Bisgrove has been elected to serve as part of the new SPFL board for the forthcoming season.

The Rangers chief executive joins six other club chiefs on the 2023/24 board which will operate alongside Neil Doncaster, Murdoch MacLennan and Karyn McCluskey.

Bisgrove appointment comes just days after the SPFL issued an apology to Rangers over the cinch dispute and committed to paying compensation to the Ibrox side.

The Rangers Review team is taking the hugely-popular morning briefing LIVE at New Edmiston House on July 28. And, we're delighted to announce that none other than Barry Ferguson will join our top team of Jonny McFarlane, Joshua Barrie, Stevie Clifford and Derek Clark. The doors will open at 6.30pm giving you time to grab a beer or soft drink before we head into an hour of debate and chat ahead of the new season; expect new signing assessments, tactical analysis, predictions and the usual banter. Then, Derek will host an exclusive chat with Barry, gaining insight into his two trophy-laden spells at the club and his take on Michael Beale's rebuild. Tickets start at just £21.50 and can be purchased HERE.
