Scott Sinclair set for Preston transfer as he leaves Celtic's training camp in Dubai

Scott Sinclair looks set to leave Celtic this month after being given permission to talk to Preston on Monday.

It is understood the winger was making his way back to the UK from Celtic's winter training camp in Dubai to hold discussions with Deepdale boss Alex Neil as the winger prepares to call time on a trophy-laden three-and-a-half years in Glasgow.

Stoke have also been monitoring the 30-year-old’s situation but Preston made an official approach to Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell, reports The Daily Record.

Sinclair, in the final six months of his megabucks contract, is now surplus to Neil Lennon’s requirements.

A source said: “It looks as if a move at this stage would be in the best interests of all parties.”

The 30-year-old was a key figure under previous manager Brendan Rodgers but has fallen out of favour since his departure.

He's made just seven appearances this season and only one since September, with that coming in dead-rubber Europa League game away at Cluj.

Sinclair has hit 62 goals in 167 games since joining from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016.
