Scott Sinclair on his instant Preston impact as former Celtic star hits the ground running

Ecstatic Scott Sinclair insists he has hit the ground running at Preston as he netted his first goal since his switch from Parkhead.

The 30-year-old was surplus to requirements with Celtic under Neil Lennon after a trophy-laden spell in Glasgow.

Sinclair penned a two-and-a-half-year deal at Deepdale as he looked to revive his career south of the border.

And the former Chelsea and Manchester City attacker is thrilled to have broken his duck with Preston with the opener in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with old club Swansea City.

Sinclair said: “It’s always good to get the first goal and [get] off the mark; your first one is always your hardest.

“I’m delighted to get my first goal but at the same time a little bit disappointed we didn’t get all three points.

“Each game as it goes, I’m getting sharper. When you go to a new club, it takes time to settle in, but I feel like I’ve settled in straight away and, on a personal note, it’s for me to keep going, keep scoring and doing as well as I can.

“I’m looking forward to any game. I’m still hungry and wanting to play and doing as well as I can for the team.”
