Scott Sinclair in heartfelt Celtic vow after being brought in from the cold

Scott Sinclair has vowed to "keep fighting for this shirt" after making his Celtic return on Wednesday night.

The winger appeared to have been frozen out by manager Neil Lennon , having failed to make a single appearance since the win over Motherwell on August 10.

Many fans assumed his Celtic career was over after the Englishman was repeatedly left out of the squad. However he was handed a reprieve against the Jags.

Sinclair replaced Mohamed Elyounoussi after 66 minutes of the League Cup quarter-final with Partick Thistle and got on the scoresheet 10 minutes later.

After the match his performance was praised by Lennon, indicating he may yet have a future with the club.

" Scott Sinclair  is still very much part of the squad. We have seen a good reaction from him. He isn’t a sulker and his body language in training is improving all the time," the manager said.

"He came on and made a difference and scored and looked strong.”

Today the player has also looked to mend the bridges, stating how much he'd missed playing and scoring for Celtic.

Sinclair Tweeted: "Oh I’ve missed this feeling” unbelievable reception from the fans, I will continue to keep fighting for this shirt."

This is Sinclair's fourth season with at Celtic Park, and he has helped the club to a domestic treble in each of the previous three.

In 2016-17 he was named as Player of the Year by both his fellow players and the Scottish Football Writers' Association after 25 goals in 50 games across all competitions.
