Scott Sinclair in Celtic transfer confession as out of favour winger breaks silence on nightmare season

Disappointed Scott Sinclair has lifted the lid on his Celtic nightmare and has revealed he may be forced to quit Parkhead.

The 30-year-old made his first appearance in three months against Cluj on Thursday and admits his lack of game time under Neil Lennon has been a source of real frustration.

Summer arrival Mohamed Elyounoussi and Mikey Johnston are ahead of the former Player of the Year in the left wing Celtic pecking order despite the Hoops activating an extra year on his deal to remain in Glasgow over the summer.

When asked is January could lead to a fresh start, Sinclair told the Daily Mail :  "Yeah, that's it. I just want to play, everyone who knows me aware of that.

"I haven't really spoken to the manager about leaving. If it was my choice, I would love to stay and fight for a position.

"But this has been tough. I want to play football. I want to enjoy my football again."

And Sinclair insists, who was linked with Preston during the summer, that he will never throw his toys out the pram at Parkhead.

The former Manchester City star - who has scored 60 goals in 153 appearances during his trophy-laden three-and-a-half year stay in Glasgow - concedes spells with the club's reserve side have been hard to take.

He added: 'I have got my head down, I don't kick up a fuss.

"Obviously I am really disappointed at those times when I am not getting the game time but I stay professional. I do my work.

"I just try to be professional. It's very difficult to have done what I've done over the last three years and then all of a sudden be pushed to the side.

"You come in every day and sometimes you're not with the team, not travelling to games and not involved.

"Some days you are training with the reserves. That's very difficult.

"I have been very professional. I am always in the gym, doing extra to keep my body in good nick.

"I think it's probably the best it has ever been to be honest because I am more in the gym than getting game time.

"That's what keeps me ticking over, fit and ready for when I get the chance to play."
