Scott Simpson at Glasgow Sheriff Court: Thug broke Celtic pub worker's nose after being kicked out

A thug broke a young pub worker's nose after being kicked out a popular Celtic bar.

Scott Simpson headbutted Kirsty Hanlon, 24, during the incident at Grace's in Glasgow's Merchant City on May 5 2019.

The 32-year-old now faces jail after he pled guilty to assaulting the bar supervisor to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard how drunken Simpson had been staggering about the pub.

He then became aggressive and was ordered to get out by security.

But, prosecutor Claire Wallace said: “Moments later, he went back in and used patrons and tables to evade staff.

“He approached Miss Hanlon and put his face close to her in an attempt to intimidate her.

“Simpson then leaned forward and struck her to the bridge of her nose with his forehead.”

The concussed victim ended up needing hospital treatment.

Miss Wallace added: “She was unable to get an X-ray due to the swelling to her nose.

“She suffered a broken nose with a scar on the bridge."

Bail was continued for Simpson, of the city's Simshill, as sentencing was deferred for reports.
