Livingston duo Scott Robinson and David Martindale named Premiership Player and Manager of the Month for January

Livingston attacker Scott Robinson and manager David Martindale have been named Scottish Premiership Player and Manager of the Month for January.

The diminutive striker scored two goals and assisted another two in his six league games last month.

He also helped Martindale's high-flying side make the Betfred Cup Final with the only goal of the game in the semi-final victory against St Mirren.

Robinson is the first Livi player to scoop the award since Burton O'Brien in April 2005 and has become a key component to the high-pressing Lions side since joining four years ago from East Fife.

Originally a midfielder, he has filled the void left up front by Lyndon Dykes' departure to QPR with his pressing ability.

Martindale, meanwhile, has won the Manager of the Month gong for the second month running.

He scooped December's award after an incredible unbeaten start to life in the West Lothian hot seat and has sealed the award again for an invincible January despite facing champions Celtic twice in a week.

Robinson came through the ranks at Hearts and set a Tynecastle record for being the Edinburgh club's youngest ever player in a competitive match.

He earned a Scottish Cup winner's medal in 2012 but moved on three years later to join Dunfermline, before signing for the Fifers and then rising through the leagues with Livingston.
