Scott Pittman wanted by Cincinnati as MLS side prepare offer for Livingston midfielder

MLS side FC Cincinnati are targeting a move for Livingston’s Scott Pittman.

The midfielder only signed a new deal at the Tony Macaroni in March as he extended his contract until 2021.

Aberdeen had wanted to land the 26-year-old on a free this summer and he remains of interest to Derek McInnes.

But the Dons would now have to see off competition from Cincinnati, who were granted a MLS franchise to the Eastern Conference last year.

Pittman would be following in the footsteps of his father were he to move Stateside.

Steve Pittman (David Johnstone)

Steve Pittman played in America for the likes of Kansas City Wizards and Tampa Bay Mutiny during a successful career that also saw him feature for Dundee and Partick Thistle.

Steve won three caps for the United States and his son is also eligible for Gregg Berhalter’s side.

Cincinnati have watched Pittman several times and are understood to be preparing an offer for the player Livingston signed from Bo’ness United.
