Scott Parker's comments which could hand Tottenham & Mauricio Pochettino a massive transfer blow

Fulham boss Scott Parker has delivered an update on Ryan Sessegnon's future.

Football.london understands Tottenham Hotspur are looking to tie up a deal for the teenager before the end of the month.

Whilst there is interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and PSG in Sessegnon, the Lilywhites have the advantage due to the player being keen on working under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino.

It seems like the perfect time for Sessegnon to move on.

He has just a year left on his first professional deal at Craven Cottage, therefore the £50m valuation from last summer is likely to have dropped significantly.

Furthermore, it's unlikely that he will sign a new deal with the Cottagers.

However, Parker has suggested that the club are willing to risk the threat of losing Sessegnon for a even lower price in the January transfer window or for free next summer.

"He’s rehabbing back to a point where he can feature," Parker said, as per West London Sport . "We’ll try everything we can [to keep him].

"We’ll see what will happen from there but at this present time, with 10 days [of the transfer window] to go, he’s a Fulham player and we fully expect him to rehab back from his injury and play a big part."

Meanwhile, Darren Bent believes Sessegnon would thrive at Spurs and the former striker has identified where he should play.

"I like Ryan, I saw him a lot last year and the year before in the Championship," Bent told Football Insider. "He’s very, very attacking.

"For me he’s better suited to the wing-back role rather than the left-back role.

"I thought he did reasonably well for Fulham last season considering what happened to the club, with them going down. I thought he was one of their best players.

"For me, it would go along the lines of what Spurs like to do in signing young, English talent.

"For a left-back there is probably none better in this country than Ryan Sessegnon so it does make sense."
