Scott Parker has already given his verdict on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min amid Tottenham links

It is the start of a new month and the search for Tottenham Hotspur's next manager continues.

Since Jose Mourinho was sacked by the club on Monday, April 19, Ryan Mason has been in interim charge of Tottenham, overseeing a 2-1 win against Southampton in the Premier League and a 1-0 defeat against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

He is set to take charge of his third game as interim boss today, with already-relegated Sheffield United the visitors to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But while Mason is overseeing things for now, there has been much speculation over who could be Mourinho's successor at Spurs, with several names being linked.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, some of those linked have already moved elsewhere or opted to stay put, with Julian Nagelsmann set to succeed Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich, while Erik ten Hag signed a new deal with Ajax earlier this week.

In addition, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has made his stance clear, insisting that he is happy with the Foxes after being linked with the Spurs job.

As such, Daniel Levy's search for Mourinho's successor is set to widen, with other names in the frame, including Brighton boss Graham Potter and former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Another manager who has been linked is former Spurs midfielder Scott Parker, who has impressed during his time as Fulham boss, despite the Cottagers now looking likely to be relegated to the Championship, following a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea yesterday.

That defeat leaves Fulham nine points adrift of safety with only four games remaining, with Parker now needing a miracle to see his team survive.

However, he has won plenty of plaudits for how he has turned Fulham into a team that has been hard to beat this season, with the Cottagers proving to be competitive in the division, even if they may see their battle for survival end in failure.

Nevertheless, Parker has commanded respect from opposing managers and has caught the attention of others with his side and his manner in press conferences and on the touchline.

And the former Spurs man has been full of compliments when it comes to Tottenham, having faced the north London side twice this season.

Indeed, the Fulham boss waxed lyrical over Harry Kane and Spurs' attacking threats before Fulham's 1-0 defeat at the hands of Spurs last month, claiming that the England captain's ability is unrivalled.

"We're playing against probably the best No 9 in the world in Harry Kane," Parker told reporters.

"He is incredible, the best No 9 in the world. Then there's [Gareth] Bale, Son [Heung-min] and players like [Lucas] Moura. It's a front half team which is exquisite.

"Unbelievable players, unbelievable talent. Right there with the best in the league, Liverpool and Manchester City."

So could Parker get the chance to work with these players he has described as being among the best in the league?

Time will tell, but the latest odds suggest he is a contender, with Parker now among the favourites to succeed Mourinho in the Spurs hotseat.
