Scott Parker can't understand why Newcastle United were awarded a penalty against Fulham and the Whites' boss believes Callum Wilson 'dived' inside the box to earn his side a spot-kick.
Fulham were good value for their 1-0 lead when the Magpies mounted their first real counter-attack of the game after the hour mark and Miguel Almiron played Callum Wilson in.
Joachim Andersen tugged Wilson's shirt outside the area, but the striker stayed on his feet before then falling to the ground inside the box.
Graham Scott awarded a penalty and after consulting the pitchside monitor, the referee sent Andersen off. Wilson duly stepped up to convert the spot-kick and score his side's equaliser.
Bruce believed that the referee had 'made the right call' because Wilson had been 'denied a goalscoring opportunity' but Parker disagreed and the Fulham boss was 'disappointed' that his side did not take all three points on his return to St James' Park.
"I've had a look at it in the changing rooms," Parker told Sky Sports after the 1-1 draw. "The game's changed drastically hasn't it and I think we can see that.
"VAR was brought in to make the correct decisions and I understand at real speed, maybe, he gives a penalty.
"This is not me standing here trying to defend it because I want the opportunity for my team not to have the penalty.
"The contact is initially made outside the box. He [Wilson] then goes into the box and dives. The ref decides to give the penalty.
"We have VAR, which is obviously then calling him to say, 'Can you go and check it because I'm not sure it is'.
"He then goes over to the screen. Unless he's seen something totally different to me...I've slowed it down numerous times.
"I don't know whether he's looking at the same angles I'm looking at but, yeah, I just don't understand.
"Like I said, the game's changing drastically. It hasn't changed for the better in my opinion. The game's going one way now.
"On the sideline, it's just a shouting match in terms of this decision, that decision. It's a bit of a mess to be honest."
