Scott Morrison nominated Prime Minister after Dutton's fatal miscount

Scott John Morrison has won a ballot for the Liberal leadership and will become the 30th Prime Minister of Australia. He has won in a party room ballot over Peter Dutton 45 votes to 40. Julie Bishop was the first to go in the leadership ballot, and is expected to retire from her political career. Josh Frydenberg has been elected Deputy Leader to the Prime Minister. More to come.
