- Former BBC Radio 2 DJ Scott Mills has been removed from the Ibiza Symphonica summer concert line-up due to the “serious nature” of allegations against him.
- The 53-year-old was sacked by the BBC after it emerged that the Metropolitan Police had launched an investigation into Mills in 2016 over alleged serious sexual offences involving a teenage boy under 16 between 1997 and 2000.
- Ibiza Symphonica said their decision was to “maintain the focus on the spirit of Ibiza Symphonica,” an event rooted in enjoyment, celebration, and positivity.
- Mills has also been dropped from Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off, stepped down as an ambassador for MS Society UK, and parted ways with Neuroblastoma UK.
- The BBC admitted it knew about a police investigation into historical sexual offence allegations in 2017, stating it “acted decisively” after receiving new information before Mills’ sacking.
