Scott McTominay wanted for shock Bayern Munich transfer

Scott McTominay could be set for a shock move to Bayern Munich this week, according to a report.

The midfielder is out favour at Manchester United and appears to be on his way out under Erik ten Hag.

The Scotland international has been heavily linked with departing Old Trafford all summer.

But with the transfer deadline day fast approaching this week, 11pm for English clubs on Friday September 1, a resolution to his future will need to be sought as a matter of urgency.

Reports in Germany have linked the 26-year-old with a move to Bayern.

BILD claims that the Scot has emerged as a midfield target for Thomas Tuchel.

And the media outlet suggests that Ryan Gravenberch could be headed in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

A season-long loan is said to be proposed by Bayern which would see McTominay head to Germany and Gravenberch join United.

The latter, a Dutch international, is believed to have grown frustrated at a lack of opportunities at the Bundesliga giants having signed from Ajax last summer, so is open to a move.

It's not known if McTominay is keen to leave Old Trafford or whether he wants to stay and fight for his place in the team, much like fellow outcast Harry Maguire.

McTominay made just ten Premier League starts last season. He's only managed two substitute appearances so far this campaign, which has amounted to a total of five minutes of game-time.

He is a homegrown talent though, having come through the youth ranks at United, so while Ten Hag clearly doesn't favour him over his other midfield options, he's in no rush to see him leave.
