Scott McTominay has been voted as Manchester United's player of the month for the first time in his career.
The young Reds midfielder has been a shining light in dark times for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in April, starring in United's 1-0 Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat to Barcelona and scoring his first senior goal.
That strike also came in defeat, United's 2-1 reverse to Wolves at the start of the month. But during a bad patch of form for the side — five defeats, one draw and just one victory in April — 22-year-old McTominay has proven a dependable player for Solskjaer.
He missed the 2-0 Manchester derby defeat to Man City with a slight knock but came off the bench to have a good impact in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
The Scot becomes the seventh different winner of the monthly award for United this season, with Luke Shaw having won it three times.
"He comes into the training ground every day with a fantastic attitude and that’s the way to improve," said Solskjaer on McTominay.
"Every time he plays for us he is improving."
