Scott McTominay sets himself a new Manchester United target

Scott McTominay says he will try and score more headed goals following his winner for Manchester United at the weekend.

The Scotland international netted the only goal of the game as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side defeated Watford 1-0 in the third round of the FA Cup.

McTominay was given the honour of captaining United for the first time in his career on Saturday night and he led by example by giving his side the early lead.

The 24-year-old headed in from an Alex Telles corner after just five minutes to give his side the lead and subsequently the goal which saw their passage to the fourth round of the competition.

It was a moment to savour for the versatile midfielder and after the game he admitted he is looking to utilise his height in order to offer a greater goal threat in the future.

"Obviously we work a lot on set-pieces both for and against us," he told BT Sport. "So to see one of them go in it is something we have worked on.

"Especially with Eric (Bailly), the second one, I feel we caught them off guard a little as well. We have got a lot of different variations for that one.

"Obviously I need to start scoring more headers, I'm 6ft 3"!"
