Scott McTominay pinpoints where Manchester United must improve after being held by Arsenal

Scott McTominay insists Manchester United must become more ruthless in front of goal after spurning the lead against Arsenal to drop two points.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cancelled out McTominay’s opener at Old Trafford to leave United in 10th place.

But the Scotland international believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are capable of solving their problems in front of goal and can create more chances too.

“There were a lot of different chances we had in the game and it’s about being more ruthless in front of goal now. I’ve said in previous weeks we have to get more opportunities... create more,” McTominay told United’s official website.

“It’s a disappointment with different opportunities we had and the way we started in the first 45 minutes because we were on the front foot and doing a lot of things right.

“It’s little mistakes we have to start cutting out... they cost you games and points. Everyone in the dressing room knows it is a tough one to take because we were on top.

“We are Manchester United and everything is well documented but we have a real good bunch of players who are a tight-knit group and the team spirit is really good. We keep everything in house and it is all positive.”

United next face AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League and then a trip to Newcastle on Sunday before a crucial match at home to rivals Liverpool.
