Scott McTominay and Mason Greenwood return to Man Utd squad for Watford fixture

Manchester United have received a major injury boost with Scott McTominay and Mason Greenwood returning to the squad.

Scottish midfielder McTominay has been out of action since Boxing Day with knee ligament issues but is finally set to make his return.

The 23-year-old was one of United's best performers prior to picking up the injury and has been sorely missed in midfield, especially with Paul Pogba's continued absence.

McTominay and Fred showed signs of a flourishing midfield partnership and the pair will be key for the remainder of the season as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side target a top four finish.

When asked if the midfielder would be in the squad, the United boss was coy ahead of the fixture.

"I think he might be in the squad," said Solskjaer.

"Scott had a rest day today, so let's see how he is tomorrow."

Greenwood also returns after missing United's Europa League draw against Club Brugge through illness. The forward will be included more than ever going forward with Marcus Rashford out with a back problem.

Solskjaer confessed that Rashford will be out for longer than first expected with the England star touch and go returning before the season is up.

Elsewhere, youth products Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong have been included in the squad and were pictured arriving at the Lowry Hotel.

There are no major surprises with Paul Pogba remaining the only key and long-term absentee.
