Scott Hunt: Violent offender on run from Buckinghamshire prison - public warned not to approach

Scott Hunt ( Thames Valley Police )

Thames Valley Police is appealing to the public for help after a man absconded from HMP Spring Hill in Buckinghamshire.

Scott Hunt is believed to have fled the prison between midnight and 8am on Saturday morning.

He was described as white, about 5ft 7, stocky, with a tattoo of the name “Jodie” on his left arm.

The force is asking for information on Hunt’s whereabouts, but warned people not to approach him.

The 32-year-old was locked up after being convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent in 2011.

He is known to have links to the village of Datchet and suburban parts of west London, specifically Uxbridge and Hayes.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Justin Harris said: “Scott Hunt is in prison after being convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent in 2011.”

“If you see Hunt, we would advise the public not to approach him, instead call 999.”

HMP Spring Hill, a category D open prison with a resettlement programme, is designed to prepare prisoners for their release by offering vocational training.

Anyone with information about Hunt’s whereabouts can call 999 in an emergency.

In a non-emergency you can leave information on the website: https://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/, quoting reference number 43190111810.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or make a report online.
