Scott Disick is reportedly struggling to process ex Kourtney Kardashian 's engagement to Travis Barker - because he was convinced they'd break up.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and Blink-182 drummer recently got engaged after he popped the question in an incredibly romantic beach setting, with them surrounded by rose petals in the shape of a love heart.
But it's said that her ex Scott - father of her kids Mason, 11, Penelope, nine, and Reign, six - is so taken aback by the news that he's "distancing" himself from her famous family, who he has always had a close bond with.
It's said that Scott was convinced that the relationship wouldn't last before learning of the engagement.
A source told People : "Scott hasn't really wanted to deal with Travis and Kourtney because he didn't feel like he'd have to.
"At first, it seemed like it was just a casual relationship to him, nothing serious. So he pretty much put that on mute. Hasn't been giving it too much brainpower, thinking that eventually, they'd break up."
The insider went on: "But that didn't happen and now he's being forced to deal with it, which is uncomfortable. He knows he has to lean into the discomfort and get past it. He understands that it's not Kourtney's job or Travis' job to make him okay with this. It's his job, and if he's going to co-parent with Kourtney, which he has been, he has to process this and make his peace with it."
They also said that Scott is now "distancing" himself from the Kardashians while he deals with it, and that he needs time to "process" it all.
Another source recently told the US site that Scott wasn't happy about Kourtney and Travis dating.
The pair had been friends and neighbours for years before they became involved romantically.
The insider said that Scott always thought he and Kourtney would one day get back together, so that he was shocked when he found out she'd started dating Travis.
Scott and Kourtney were seen discussing their relationship on the final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Scott made it clear he was hoping they'd one day go back to being more than co-parents, and Kourtney - without going into detail - said that Scott knows he hasn't changed the things she said he'd need to in order for them to get back together.
