Scott Disick 's recent rehab stint reportedly came about after his girlfriend Sofia Richie reached out to his ex Kourtney Kardashian for help.
It's said that Kourtney gave Scott an ultimatum after Sofia became concerned about his behaviour.
Scott, 36, had recently gone to the All Points North Lodge facility in Edwards, Colorado, but it's reported he left after someone leaked a photo of him inside the facility, leaving him furious.
It had been suggested that Scott, who has been open about his substance abuse issues in the past, had checked into rehab to tackle addictions to alcohol and cocaine.
But his lawyer says Scott was actually there to work on his past traumas.
Marty Singer said in a statement: "In an effort to finally come to terms and deal with the pain that Scott has been silently suffering for many years due to the sudden death of his mother, followed by the death of his father three months later, Scott made the decision to check himself into a rehab facility last week to work on his past traumas."
Sources now say that Scott headed to the facility after being given an ultimatum by his ex Kourtney, 41, the mother of his three children, Mason, Penelope and Reign.
An insider told E! that Scott "does really well when he is keeping busy", but that the extra downtime in quarantine had left him "spiralling in his thoughts".
They added that Sofia, 21, was "extremely concerned with the choices he was making and how out of control he became very quickly".
Sofia is said to have "tipped off" Kourtney because she "didn't know what else to do".
And another source says Kourtney knew something was wrong because of the way Scott was acting.
They told the publication: "Kourtney was very upset, and knew something was up by his unresponsiveness to matters and convos that pertained to the kids.
"She had been through this before many times, and put a halt to it immediately. She ultimately gave him an ultimatum and he had no choice but to seek help."
Scott had gone back to the facility to deal with the loss of his parents six years ago.
He admitted on the most recent episode of KUWTK that he still found it difficult to speak about his lost loved ones.
