Manchester City are in talks to sign Scott Carson in what would be one of the most shocking deals of the transfer window so far.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly decided he needs an experienced backup for his first choice between the sticks, Ederson, and his deputy Claudio Bravo.
Carson, 33, was initially being linked with a move to Derby's rivals Nottingham Forest, but now amazingly looks set to move to the Premier League champions instead.
Rather than being permanent the deal looks to be a one-year loan, with Derby happy to let the ex-England international complete a dream move in the twilight of his career.

Carson has gained Premier League experience at the likes of Liverpool , Charlton Athletic and Aston Villa, and won four caps for England.
He will always be remembered, however, for his howler in the 3-2 loss against Croatia in the Euro 2008 qualifiers, in which he left a soft shot from Niko Kranjcar slip under him. That defeat cost England a place at the competition.
It appears highly unlikely that Carson will ever play for City, and his situation appears similar to that of Rob Green, another ex-England goalkeeper who spent last season at Chelsea but did not play a single minute.

He was still involved in the Blues' celebrations when they beat Arsenal 4-1 in the Europa League final, however, and Carson must be dreaming he can do a similar thing with City.
Carson has experienced glory in the past, and boasts a Champions League winners medal from his time at Liverpool, having played in the home leg of their quarter final against Juventus that season.
He also spent two years in Turkey from 2011-2013 for Bursaspor, and it clearly felt that the experience he has picked up in a long and varied career could be of value.
