Scott Brown's heartfelt Jonny Hayes goodbye as Celtic skipper on the lookout for third wing man in as many seasons

When you're at one football club for almost 15 years then at some point you're going to lose pals from the dressing room.

But for the second season in a row Scott Brown will have to deal with one of his closest mates leaving Celtic after Jonny Hayes announced his exit on social media.

It comes just a year after Brown moved to install the Irishman as his key wingman in the squad with Kieran Tierney having moved to Arsenal for a £25m fee.

The pair were a regular feature at Lennoxtown as they cracked jokes and delivered pranks to ease the mood before big matches.

Hayes will now need to find a new team but it's obvious that he's going to be a big loss to the Hoops dressing room.

Brown wrote: "Going to miss you my man. What a man and what a player. Hard going in the dressing room to replace x"

The beating heart of the current Hoops side won't be short on offers for a new mate but perhaps a few will stop short of the shorts and t-shirt combo in the middle of winter.

Irish winger Hayes announced his exit on Friday night when he posted: "From the lows of breaking a leg to the highs of winning a treble, the last 3 years have been an enjoyable journey, in which I’ve worked under some terrific staff and shared a dressing room with some unbelievable guys!

"Football at times brings tough decisions, so I’d like to thank you for all the support received along the way! Stay safe everyone!"
