Scott Brown's Celtic solidarity with Rangers star Glen Kamara nominated for FIFA Fair Play award

Scott Brown's gesture of solidarity with Glen Kamara after he was racially abused has been nominated for FIFA's Fair Play award.

The former Celtic captain approached his Rangers rival ahead of a derby clash in March 2020 in the wake of Kamara being targeted with a horrific slur by Slavia Prague's Ondrej Kudela.

Kudela was banned for 10 matches after UEFA deemed him guilty of making racist remarks.

Support for Kamara was widespread in the aftermath but the sight of Brown putting rivalry aside to offer support to the Finland international just minutes before they went head-to-head on the pitch was particularly touching.

And now Brown - who has since moved to Aberdeen - has been singled out for recognition alongside two other nominees.

Denmark's national team plus their medical staff have been nominated for their heroic response to Christian Eriksen collapsing on the pitch against Kamara's Finland at Euro 2020.

Medics performed life-saving CPR as the players formed a human shield around their team-mate, with captain Simon Kjaer lauded for his leadership and comforting Eriksen's wife, Sabrina.

The final nominee is current Watford manager Claudio Ranieri.

He's been recognised for asking his Sampdoria side to perform a guard of honour for newly-crowned Serie A champions Inter.
