Scott Brown makes definitive Celtic statement as Hoops hero battles the wild weather on his own

It's been a wet and wild couple of days in Glasgow as Celtic's squad prepare for their first away trip of the Premiership campaign against Motherwell tomorrow.

The Hoops were battling away in the rain but the sudden downpours appeared to do little to dampen their spirits after securing a 1-1 away draw with CFR Cluj in the Champions League on Tuesday.

While most of Celtic 's squad were wrapping themselves up in their raincoats and hoods, Scott Brown was leading from the front with just his short-sleeved shirt, out on his own as he shrugged off the poor weather.

His good pal Kieran Tierney would have surely have joined him out there at the front of the pack in the wild conditions, but this was the first day Brown would have known his close friend wouldn't have be coming back to Lennoxtown again after securing his move away.

The loss of the left-back might be weighing on a few players minds as they saw their team-mate and close pal make his £25million switch to Arsenal.

But the players can't let it effect them tomorrow, as they travel to Fir Park to take on Stephen Robinson's side, especially when Lennon outlined five positions in the Hoops team he wanted to strengthen in.

He said: “We’ll look to bring another left-back in, no question.

“A right back as well. And a left winger. And a right winger. And maybe a centre forward.”

After thumping St Johnstone 7-0 on the opening day of the Premiership season last weekend at Celtic Park, Neil Lennon's side will be hoping to make it two out of two against the Steelmen and continue their undefeated start to the season.

Hatem Abd Elhamed trained with the rest of the squad, despite carrying a knock which he picked up in his Hoops debut but is unlikely to feature in Lanarkshire.

The left-back was rated a doubt by Lennon after playing midweek in their Champions League qualifier, while Mikey Johnston was ruled out of their fixture tomorrow but the manager was hopeful he could return in time to face Cluj next week.
