Scott Brown joins Roy Keane as Celtic icon set for blockbuster ITV punditry gig

Scott Brown will join big hitters Roy Keane and Gary Neville on ITV's star-studded Euro 2020 punditry team.

The recently departed Celtic captain is set to become an Aberdeen player-coach next season but will kick off the summer with a blockbuster TV role.

Brown will accompany fellow former internationals Graeme Souness and John Collins as Scotland's representatives ahead of the big kick-off in June.

His former Parkhead team-mate Joe Ledley is also on the bill with Wales taking their place at the multi-city competition.

Steve Clarke's side take on Czech Republic in their tournament opener at Hampden before travelling south to clash with England at Wembley.

A final group clash with Croatia follows back at Hampden as Scotland bid to reach the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time ever.

The full punditry line-up is completed by Ian Wright, Patrick Vieira, Ashley Cole, Eni Aluko, Robert Earnshaw, Emma Hayes, Nigel de Jong, Joe Ledley, Nadia Nadim, Scott Brown and Andros Townsend.

Niall Sloane, ITV Director of Sport, said: “ Euro 2020 is a tournament unlike any other and ITV has brought together a uniquely talented team from across football that will offer viewers and fans compelling insight and entertainment we hope will enrich their enjoyment of what promises to be a very special few weeks.

"Our live coverage, highlights shows, podcasts, online and social media content, will capture all the action and all the talking points, so fans and viewers can immerse themselves in everything the tournament has to offer throughout Euro 2020 on ITV.”

Meanwhile, the Scottish Government have given provisional approval for a Euro 2020 fan zone at Glasgow Green throughout the tournament.

The mainly outdoor venue will be able to host up to 6000 fans per day, depending on the state of the Covid-19 pandemic in the coming weeks.
