Scott Brown in Rangers parting shot as Celtic skipper declares 'we went proper Invincible'

Defiant Scott Brown delivered a parting shot to Rangers as he declared only Celtic are "proper Invincibles".

The Parkhead skipper brought the curtain down a trophy-laden 14 years with a goalless draw at Hibs on Saturday afternoon.

In Glasgow, Rangers trounced Aberdeen 4-0 to complete an unbeaten Premiership season 25 points ahead of their city rivals.

Brown suspects the pursuit of 10 In A Row and the marathon campaigns which yielded four successive Trebles have finally caught up on Celtic as they faltered badly on all fronts this term.

But while Steven Gerrard's champions cantered to the league title they suffered shock defeats in both the Betfred and Scottish Cup quarter-finals

Brown, heading to Aberdeen this summer, was part of the Celtic side which achieved an Invincible Treble in 2016/17 and he said: "I would rather be in my situation than anybody else's.

"We went proper Invincible throughout the whole season. We've done Treble after Treble after Treble and it's not easy.

"It does take a toll on everyone's body. That's what's happened this year.

"We gave it everything we could but we've just not managed to get that 10."
