Brown has just come to the end of his first year in management with Fleetwood Town securing a mid-table finish in English League One while creating history with the Cod Army in the FA Cup. They eventually lost out to English Premier League newboys Burnley in heartbreaking fashion.

Taking to social media, Brown wrote: "What a night. Thank you for all your support over the years and eventually got the opportunity to say a proper goodbye.

"Will always cherish the moments we had together and miss you all.

"So many memories over the years and great to chat about them last night.

"Thanks to @celticfc @celticfcfoundation for the support and great event.

"Plus huge thanks to @mikaellustig for being a special man. Plus @shaun.enni for the event."
