Scott Brown in bullish 'not a problem' Celtic vs Rangers prediction

Scott Brown was bullish in his prediction that Celtic will have no problem beating Rangers this Saturday.

The former Hoops captain was asked about the powderkeg fixture while appearing on Sky Sports as a pundit for Dundee vs Celtic this afternoon.

The game is set up nicely with the title race very much alive in the Premiership.

Brendan Rodgers' side today went five points ahead of their arch-Glasgow rivals, however, Philippe Clement's men can reduce that gap back to two tomorrow night with a win over Ross County.

Celtic were on easy street as they defeated Dundee 3-0 on Boxing Day.

And Broony was in a confident mood while looking ahead to derby day this weekend.

Speaking about the importance of Cameron Carter-Vickers and the knock he picked up this afternoon, he said: "He reads the game really well. He controls the game from the back but you have Callum McGregor in there as well. They are two huge leaders for the club."

Host Eilidh Barbour then asked the ex-Scotland international for a score prediction.

Smirking, Brown responded: "Celtic win. Not a problem. What about you?"

She replied: "I'm just there to enjoy it, Scott."

The referee for the big game has today been confirmed as Nick Walsh.

Walsh has experience of officiating the fixture. The Scottish FA has entrusted him to handle the occasion.

He will be assisted by Graeme Stewart and Calum Spence.

Willie Collum will be on VAR and his assistant Daniel McFarlane. Kevin Clancy will be the fourth official.

Meanwhile, Rodgers has addressed Celtic's injury concern over Carter-Vickers.

He said: "Thankfully his hamstring hasn't gone, but he just felt a little bit tight. We've said to him before that if he feels anything, it's better letting us know.

"So he just started to tighten up a little bit, we were able to take him off, and Stephen Welsh comes in and was excellent."
