Celtic skipper Scott Brown has been warned that the Aberdeen assistant boss role is "too big a job" by Richard Foster.
Brown has been approached to become player-coach if Stephen Glass is confirmed as the new manager at Pittodrie.
However, former Dons defender believes it is too big a leap for a first step into management for Brown.
While calling for Dave Cormack to appoint the Atalanta United 2 boss, he believes a more experienced number two should be added to the backroom team.

When asked on BBC Sportsound if a character like Brown is what is needed in the Granite City, Foster said: "Not right now I don't think.
"Scott Brown and I are the same age. I don't know him that well. I know how much he wants to win and how successful he has been as a player, but at the moment we are the same age with relatively similar coaching experience, and I don't think I would be ready to be assistant manager at a club like Aberdeen.
"It's too big a job. When you couple that up with Stephen Glass, I think Stephen Glass on it's own is a good way to go, you're giving a young manager a chance in the game.
"It's a big club and a big chance. You need to give him time and you need to bring in someone with him with experience.
"I don't think going in there with an inexperienced manager and an inexperienced assistant is the way to go."
Brown is out of contract at Celtic this summer, but Record Sport understands a fresh playing deal will be put on the table.
