Scott Brown gives Celtic 'stonewaller' penalty verdict as he explains pre-match Glen Kamara move

Scott Brown insists the racism Glen Kamara has allegedly been subjected to by Slavia Prague is "disgusting".

The Celtic skipper approached the Rangers midfielder ahead of the Old Firm derby to show his support after he claimed Ondrej Kudela called him a "f****** monkey" on Thursday night.

Both sides refused to take the knee and stand together against racism following the incident.

And Brown explained he felt the need to show solidarity for Kamara as he slammed the treatment he faced.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I think it's disgusting what's happened to be perfectly honest, it doesn't whether it is a Rangers player, Celtic player, or whoever it is throughout

"It should never be part of the game and it just shows we must take that stand on racism and it's just that little bit of respect because it's a fellow professional."

On the pitch, it finished all square after Alfredo Morelos cancelled out Mohamed Elyounoussi's opener.

Celtic were on top in the first half, but couldn't make their dominance count.

A moment of contention was when Odsonne Edouard was booked for diving as he claimed for a penalty from a Borna Barisic challenge.

And Brown insists it was a stonewaller for the hosts.

He added: "For us, the first half we were exceptional, we could have had three or four, we got a penalty denied.

"It was a stonewaller, there is no need for Odsonne to go down, he chopped inside, we seen it at half time.

"It's one of those ones you in at half time 2-0 up and the goal changed the game, they managed to get back in the game but we've had enough chances.

'I thought we were very good throughout the whole 90 minutes.

"It's a bit unlucky as well, it's probably a foul on Jonjoe (Kenny), it goes out for a corner and gets a flick on and whoever scores at the back post as well, it's one of those ones

"I think today's team performance was miles better than we've been this season - we probably deserved three points as well.

"I don't think it's just this fixture, it's been a whole season for us, we've played some great football but we just can't get the ball in the back of the net.

"They have one shot on target and score one goal. It's been a hard season for us. We've come back and been really good in the last three games."

"The lads are still fighting, we've still got that pride in ourselves.

"We need to keep going, we've got a Scottish Cup to look forward to now, we've go a lot of games to look forward to and win as many as we can.

"We don't know what's going to happen in the squad so you're playing, whether it's John or a new manager, you're playing for your position as well."
