Scott Brown has revealed his Aberdeen team-mates have nicknamed him "the hybrid".
The veteran midfielder departed Celtic for Pittodrie at the end of last season and has settled quickly into his new surroundings.
Manager Stephen Glass named him new team captain and he's set to occupy a player-coach role for the Dons.
And that's what inspired his new moniker, with the Dons dressing room joking they're unsure whether he's one of them or part of Glass' backroom staff.
Brown admitted he also expected some stick having helped Celtic dash Aberdeen's trophy dreams on several occasions down the years.
The former Parkhead skipper told Sky Sports : "For the first few days, yeah. At the end of the day it's 90 minutes and everyone plays to win.
"I was at Celtic back in the day, I enjoyed my time there but now it's hopefully competing for medals and trophies at Aberdeen.
"That's why I came here, the club's got great ambition. So has the chairman, so has the manager.
"We're all in the same direction, we want to push this club to great things again."
He continued: "The lads are calling me the hybrid! They don't whether I'm staff or player.
"I'm just jumping in between both. I'm getting the best of both worlds, learning and what's why I came here.
"I wanted to learn, to find the new way for me and how to push forward in my career.
"I know, in football, just playing is not going to push me that much further on, I'm 36 now.
"I've got two years, I'm looking forward to it but after that I've got to start to think about what I want to do.
"As I said, I'm the hybrid just now. I'm learning but I'm also on the pitch and training as well, trying to give 100 per cent."
