Scott Brown delivers brutal thinly-veiled swipe at Rangers

Scott Brown loved winding up Rangers' players and fans on the pitch.

And it would appear the former Celtic captain enjoys doing so just as much off it.

The ex-Scotland international has delivered a thinly-veiled dig at the Ibrox club ahead of this weekend's Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Broony insists Rangers are experts in coping with no pressure, as they displayed their title-winning form in 2021 when there were no crowds in attendance at matches due to Covid-19.

Now in charge of Fleetwood Town, Brown admits he still keeps a close eye on Scottish football, insisting that the Premiership is a great league.

And when asked on Go Radio about the standard of the division, he said: "Scotland's top flight is relentless and especially here in Glasgow, Rangers, Celtic, it's that relentlessness.

"You need to make sure you keep winning and there are a lot of players that can't do that. They are fantastic footballers but don't understand what it takes to be a Celtic player.

"If you don't win, there's 60,000 on top of you and if you want 60,000 loving you, you have to thrive off that. A lot of players struggle with the pressure, and a lot of players, especially when Covid came, shall we say another team did really when there was no pressure. It's a fantastic game up the road and a fantastic league."

Andy Walker and Craig Moore were left in stitches in the studio.

And when Broony was asked for his derby day score prediction, he wasn't done with the jibes there.

"e told former Rangers man Moore: "Craigy's not going to be a happy man."
