Scott Brown could face Celtic punishment for 'elbow' as SFA panel to examine Aaron Tshibola incident

Scott Brown could face retrospective punishment for his altercation with Kilmarnock's Aaron Tshibola.

The Celtic skipper caught the midfielder on the chin with an elbow during the Parkhead side's 4-0 win at Rugby Park.

And the Daily Record are reporting that an SFA panel will examine the incident to determine if there was any intent from Brown.

The footage can be reviewed because referee Kevin Clancy did not see the flashpoint in real-time.

Brown is only just back from suspension after he was sent off for a deliberate elbow on Livingston youngster Jaze Kabia a fortnight ago.

But Neil Lennon insisted there was no malice from Brown as he praised his captain, who scored the opener against Killie, for a vintage performance.

He said: "I didn't think there was anything in it.

"Whereas, at Livingston two weeks ago, it looked a little bit more deliberate.

"But I don't think there was anything in that tonight at all.

"He had a very good game, he looked fresh and played very, very well.

"He looked, again, the player we know he can be."

It's the same procedure that concluded Alfredo Morelos stamped on Hibs defender Ryan Porteous last week as the Rangers striker was handed a three-game suspension.

Steven Gerrard couldn't defend the Colombian's actions, but called for more consistency in the SFA's disciplinary process.
