Scott Brown Celtic return latest with 'no contact' made

Scott Brown has reportedly not yet been contacted over a potential reunion at Celtic with Brendan Rodgers.

Reports earlier this week had suggested that Broony would be brought back to serve as No.2 under Rodgers should he complete his stunning return to the Scottish champions.

Sources say that the deal is on the verge of being signed, sealed, and delivered, with majority shareholder Dermot Desmond growing increasingly confident of getting it over the line in the next few days.

However, while the managerial position itself looks likely to be finalised, the No.2 situation remains unclear.

Football Scotland claims that former Hoops skipper Brown has not yet received contact from the club about the role.

The ex-Scotland midfielder spent 14 years as a player at the club before departing in 2021.

He played for just over six months at Aberdeen before retiring and taking up the manager hotseat at League One side Fleetwood Town.

At the moment, it's stated that there's been no contact of any for between Celtic and Brown, and nor has there been any discussions between Rodgers and Brown.

It's said Brown is happy learning the ropes at Fleetwood, as he gets set for his second season as his own man this summer.

A lot will depend on whether John Kennedy decides to stay put in the role he's held for several years now, or whether he will move to Spurs with Ange Postecoglou.
