Scott Brown can't resist 'proper invincible' dig at Rangers as he plays final game for Celtic

Scott Brown issued a parting shot at Rangers as he bid farewell to Celtic on Saturday.

Brown played his final game for the Hoops in a 0-0 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road.

The Celtic skipper brought the curtain down a trophy-laden 14 years, while in Glasgow Rangers trounced Aberdeen 4-0 to complete an unbeaten Premiership season 25 points ahead of their city rivals.

Brown suspects the pursuit of 10 In A Row and the marathon campaigns which yielded four successive Trebles have finally caught up on Celtic as they faltered badly on all fronts this term, reports the Daily Record.

But while Steven Gerrard's champions cantered to the league title they suffered shock defeats in both the Betfred and Scottish Cup quarter-finals

Brown, heading to Aberdeen this summer, was part of the Celtic side which achieved an Invincible Treble in 2016/17 and he said: "I would rather be in my situation than anybody else's.

"We've went proper Invincible throughout the whole season. We've done Treble after Treble after Treble and it's not easy.

"It does take a toll on everyone's body. That's what's happened this year.

"We gave it everything we could but we've just not managed to get that 10."
