Scott Brown avoids punishment as Celtic captain enjoys SFA let-off over 'big stud marks'

Scott Brown has escaped action over the tackle which left St Johnstone winger Michael O'Halloran injured on Sunday.

The veteran midfielder made contact with the star on the hip with a challenge - leaving stud marks on the ex- Rangers man.

O'Halloran was unable to continue in the game but the Scottish Sun report the SFA have looked at the flashpoint and are happy that the collision wasn't intentional.

St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson admitted the winger is now a doubt for his side's clash with Livingston at the weekend

He added: "His hip seized up and he has massive big stud marks and there's a bit of swelling there.

"We will need to have a look at that this week."

Neil Lennon will be delighted his skipper will remain available for the challenges ahead as Celtic face a crucial match at Kilmarnock on Saturday as they look to get their title tilt back on track.

The Hoops are under serious pressure after falling 13 points behind leaders Rangers.
