Scott Brown admits Celtic are set for transfer 'clear-out' as skipper hints at new signings

Celtic captain Scott Brown admits "a lot of people will be leaving" the club as a summer of change appears to be on the cards at Parkhead.

Neil Lennon's side lifted their eighth league trophy in a row after defeating Hearts 2-1 thanks to a double from Mikey Johnston.

Dedryck Boyata this morning had his move to Hertha Berlin confirmed by the German club, seeing the Belgian international secure his switch to the Bundesliga side after his contract with Celtic expires at the end of this season.

There are a number of other players who are out of contract this season, including the likes of Mikael Lustig, Emilio Izaguirre, Cristian Gamboa and Dorus de Vries.

Several loan players are set to walk out the door next month as well with Oliver Burke and Jeremy Toljan to return to their parent clubs.

With it still being unclear who takes over in the Celtic Park hotseat, a lot of other players' futures may hang in the balance.

And the Hoops skipper says they will likely see a lot of new players arrive next season as they try to secure a ninth league title in a row.

Brown said: "There will be a clear-out at the end of the season and a lot of people will be leaving and there will be a lot of new faces coming in as well.

"There's a lot of lads who have been here a long time that love being here and have won a lot of trophies and I think that's what makes this club special.

"The lads have a lot of love and passion for the club and for the fans as well."

The captain sat out of today's game against Hearts, but hopes to be back fit in time for their cup final clash against the Jambos next weekend.

And he admitted it will need another big effort from his side to secure the treble Treble.

He added: "We've got one more cup final this season and then we can recharge our batteries.

"For us to get here again is fantastic, we need a huge push now to get the Scottish Cup again and if we do the treble again it's another fantastic season for this club and all these lads will go down in history if they manage to do that."
